well,
kingfox finally uploaded all of his pics, so now I can steal them and do an update!
i'll post in two batches, so you don't go into sugar-shock. but december has been a sweet month.

before the hols, we went into the city for a dinner-date, and fortuitously ran into
runstaverun for his birthday, with
kikibird who was in town, and hung out for a night of revels.

another thanks to everyone who came out to the farmlands to see "It's a Wonderful Life" (and play WiiFit!) ((I did a lot of Wii Fit in December..considering I've had it for 4 months, it took me a while to get to it)); you braved a scary scary ice-driveway, and made it!

(*I* wasn't so lucky earlier in the week, and managed to get stuck; but it all worked out. i used borrowed 4wd to get around for last-minute holiday errands, and of course I share my commute.) ((Note to Self: one snow day, one delay so far).

LOOT!:
I got teacher-loot this year! The loot at my last job was negligible, so it was pretty cool, since I wasn't expecting anything. (ran the Spelling Bee, did a debate, brought gingerbread and chocolate-chip cookies to school for staff, etc)

Teacher Loot: a bag from Ann Taylor, a random silver-embossed compact-mirror, candles, a scrapbook, soap and Purell from B&Bworks, a $20 gift cert to Borders (that kid gets an A), a bag of snack-food mix (wierd!), cookies, zucchini and banana bread, a pretty bracelet, and a black and grey scarf that I've been wearing b/c it happens to match my dresscoat. Not a bad haul! Writing the thank-you cards...
Other Loot: GPS Navigation. (I'm mixed on this one. Yes, of course it's a good gift for me, considering my legendary bad sense of direction, but getting lost, or having to use your brain to navigate places and problem-solve, is half the fun). My dad got me an antique mahjong set like the one his grandmother used to have, and it's really, really neat. We brought it to Brooklyn yesterday to play with kingfox's brother's family, and now I know the rules, (if not the scoring).

From Kingfox: a blue guitar, a Domokun hat, Watchmen comic, a Monty Python shirt, the Robin of Sherwood series (sings "ROBIN, THE HOODED MAN!"), the Star Wars Vault book (gorgeous! I'm going to frame a few things from this book), astronaut ice-cream, and I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting since it's not in front of my nose, but also this t-shirt:

Played a lot with the fam; we played mahhjong, we played pingpong, we beat on each other between rounds, Wii, and with the kids

(note: the highlight of Christmas dinner had to be an *amazing* Grand Marnier lobster bisque that my little bro made)

Off to Hoboken for the week, but here's a pic of us in front of the Hoboken Town Hall before Christmas:

(although it's like 50 degrees and sunny now, here's a nice pic of Hoboken that kingfox took 2 weeks ago)
