Some Midsummer Days and Nights...

Feeling a bit housebound and restless, so doing a post...been seeing all sorts of Renfaire practice pics and different Warrior-Dash-type race (and its competitors/spinoffs) pics of friends kicking butt, and it drives me a bit crazy to be 6 months pregnant right now...QQ!

Kingfox made an executive decision as we walked Smithy last night around 9:30 (it was cool and lovely); we were planning on going to the MP3 Experiment together (Number 11!) on Governor's Island, but it was so hot and unbreathable and unpleasant today that even last night he was recommending that i stay in...boo! I want to see Governor's Island (never been), but riding airless subways and pressing around with lots of people does not sound pleasant right now...Made some protein-packed venison meatballs and drank some milk (Liberty is supposed to be putting on mass right now!) and hanging in with the dog, listening to some online things; among them, a great sermon on humility from Liquid...highly recommended:

Going to start some packing (I say this every day, but I mean it today!) and count down towards 'Breaking Bad'...maybe some Portal (although SPOILER, I felt frustrated after the GLADOS confrontation, and having to muck around down at the bottom...I enjoy the light bridges and lasers and clean testing environment, more than the post-apocalyptic broken down way-finding that you do later...'sides, I get seriously nervous and sweaty when I make some of those jumps, it's too funny) (speaking of salt mines, I just killed an hour at this awesome conspiracy site http://forum.prisonplanet.com/index.php?topic=155409.80).
The first things I got for Liberty's nursery came yesterday, so excited! It's going to be yellow and white, mostly (what??! I'm partial to yellow! ::insert kingfox-sigh here::). I was originally going to do a Beatles Yellow Submarine theme, but when I worked it out in my head, it looked too busy and brash; this is much quieter and calmer and nicer. I still have an awesome Yellow Submarine diaper bag that I picked up, though.

We celebrated our 2nd Anniversary this past week;

went out to Klong, walked to Washington Square Park, where we just sat, feeling the heat from the day radiating through the bench, and people-watching and chilling,

then hit a French winebar (one of the few places I can have a glass of wine and *not* feel like everyone is looking @ me and judging...the French are pretty cool about this. In fact, the waiter gave us free drinks and hugs (well, *I* got a hug and kiss). ((The Banana Song was playing in the wine bar, and the bartenders went crazy singing it. you're welcome.)

Walked around Hoboken, sat and watched some of the Frank "Pupie" Raia bash from Pier C; it amazes me that this guy gives away free food at this event! Pretty kicking cover band that did an amazing amount of crowd-pleasing pop hits.

Also went to Coney Island this past weekend (I had never been!)

(on our way, we'd never seen daytime traffic so light at the Holland; picture worthy! Good time to go through the Holland Tunnel on a Friday afternoon around 2 pm, I suppose!)
