It was Camp/Activity Month for us!
While our winter is kind of isolated, the summer is the time to get things done and do things! Kids had Rec Camp, Music Camp, Volleyball Camp, Cub Scout camp...If they weren't at camp, they were swimming at their grandparents, or reading in the AC at home. There were several heatwaves. Spent 4th of July swimming and playing volleyball with the fam at the pool.

Went into Brooklyn to say hey to family as they sent off nephew Matthew to the Coast Guard Academy. big feels.

Fit two interviews into this month, so that August would be more freed up...Still have to deal with the leaking upstairs bathroom plumbing as well as at least two downstairs ceiling redos.

My brother got divorced, it's been a rough time for him, but we've started to reconnect.
Hurricane Beryl hit the Caribbean and Texas; I had friends in Houston who were without power for over 8 days during over 100 degree weather, rough stuff.
A Ukrainian children's hospital got bombed.

The election is getting nuts. People called all week for Biden to step down due to cognitive/age difficulties, and there was an assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, PA.
Also really large covid wave in July, which was surprising, bc for the past two years, the larger summer wave(s) hit in August.
Ready to go be a pirate for a week and do a certain amount of drinking.
