Homeschool



Started teaching the kids Mandarin this February, and it's been going great; they've learned so much in just one month, I was surprised. Using supplemental tools like ChinesePod.com and a free tutor from the online school we use for Math. They can greet someone, introduce themselves, count to ten, tell the time, etc. They watched a bunch of Zhang Yimou movies and we even did some chinese calligraphy together and celebrated the Chinese New Year (Year of the Dragon). Really proud of how hard they worked this month. Also, they both read Tolkien this month; first The Hobbit, then the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It is truly a golden age and pure delight to watch them read these and appreciate them, just tops.

had a contractor replace some rotting front steps this month; should have gotten a written invoice first but live and learn.

Planted seeds in February, did some garden planning.



Made homemade ground beef jerky; it came out great! Definitely planning on making it lots with the dehydrator. It tasted great, and the jerky gun was really fun to use

made Winter Melon soup and Bone Broth this month. Took a month to not feel sinusey and bad from last month's Covid infection. Back to intermittent tiredness, histimine reactions, wheezing, and spleen-pain, ugh. Lots of taking it easy.



I really am a deeply unserious person, most of the time.

Next month gets busy with Spring Break then Soccer, and St Patrick's Day...bring on the green!

Still no Gaza War ceasefire. A soldier self-immolated himself in protest this month. Lots of Covid circulating this month.
