didn't take long to get the variant, thanks school. no pos on test, but the usual symptoms.

banana pumpkin muffins and tea with my girlie

bougie mums

started excavating the sidewalk, got halfway. severe drought for a lot of August/September, but broke towards the end of the month. watched my parents' farm while they were on vaca; lots of pool and chickens. In my CG patch, focused on things that would survive dry weather without much attention...lemongrass did well, and then I dug it up to see if it would survive inside. Planted a round of autumn kale.

backyard fight practice with my guy

lots of Minecraft and No Man's Sky

Dogs

They love chilling in the sun on the sideporch

upped the fitness this month, but also spent half the month eating like a trash panda.

Got a lot of annual appointments done; mammo, dentist, kids' pediatrician visit, my RRP checkup in NYC

Whenever I have my NYC doc appointment, I try to treat myself to NYC stuff. This time, I stopped briefly at the Met to see the Greco-Roman "In Color" exhibit. Armor was *totally* on my brain (as was A&S, bc I was thinking towards a Ducal Challenge clay project, (even though I wound up not attending or making the craft yet. Lots of great ideas and inspo, though)).

was on this subway car solo, and had the eerie feeling that maybe I had jumped backward in time.

(but no, alas. just an antiquated subway car)

Start of School. Queen Elizabeth died this month. Hurricane Ian happened this month, and Russia escalated the war with Ukraine and blew up the NORD pipeline (the Ukranian offensive went well, a lot of Russian genocidal activites were uncovered, threat of nukes). financial markets underwent more meltdown (Credit Suisse etc). mortage rates rose a lot, inflation rose, and student loan forgiveness got overturned. The CDC said that medical personnel didn't have to mask anymore. Surge started in UK at the end of the month. Greg Fraser, our neighbor in Maine, passed away. I viewed him as an uncle and mentor. We are going to his memorial in October.
Flamingoes sheltering in a bathroom during Hurricane Ian.

A surprising portion of society is completely off its rocker rn
