November 2020

Super-stressed heading into the beginning of November, with things really crazy around the Election of 2020, and then sort of a brief respite/happy place when Biden got elected, and things de-escalated a bit, then more stressed when Covid rates started to really climb again. I lost the School Board election, (there's a re-post of my statement on FB, below). Pretty well cloistered by the end of November and hunkering down bc of Covid.
Election Night FB post:
Well, the mail-in ballots are counted for my area, and the non-mail in ones will be done around 11 pm, but looking at the preliminary results, I lost and will not be serving on the Clinton Township Board of Education. However, I am *so* proud and happy for my running mate, *************; it was a privilege and pleasure to work with her and to get to know her, and I have every confidence that she will do an excellent job serving the township of Clinton on the school board. I am proud of the campaign we ran; we kept things clear and concise and civil and positive, with no social-media slams or other shenanigans, and I learned so, so much during this process. I am extremely grateful to anyone who supported, helped, or gave me advice, especially ****************** and all the people who gave me so much encouragement and kindness along the way. Thank you so, so much. I still plan to be involved, and I still expect to help in whatever ways I can. I don't feel like a loser, and I don't feel sad. I pushed myself to do something, out of my comfort zone, and while I think I could have done a better job campaigning if there wasn't Covid, I also know that schools and towns are going to need all the help and support they can get to navigate the next few years, and I encourage everyone to be as involved as they can.

Virtual school continues. They are doing well in their classes. I still feel like I could be doing more with them, but soo much time is taken up by their Zoom schedule day-to-day that I just sort of fit the rest of life in around it.
