First Day of School!

4-soon-5, and pert as can be

just turned 3, has opinions

PreK and 3 yo class

Apple Picking

Scandinavian Festival with Uncle Larsson

once again, we missed the wife-carry competition, but we did manage to drink some Aquavit and climb on the longboat!

Celebrating Nana, Kirky's, Pop's bday with some family time

pretty Natalee! and Lola

Kirk's 3rd birthday! We celebrated with some pizza and presents

getting spiffy haircuts for start of schoolyear (before and after pics)

(Kirk, trying *very* hard to not cry and freak out)

Family outing to Land of Make Believe, SUCH fun

Ho ho ho...

...HO HO HO.

Did Bucks this year; wonderful to reconnect and see people, and such fun, such a privilege to be part of this talented crew.

Lots of little outings; went to Crystal Cave in PA and the Pagoda in Reading, PA...watched a thunderstorm roll on top of us.

i don't actually recommend taking a rambunctious 2-almost-3 year old to a cave, with crevices and whatnot. it wasn't the best.

but the cave was neat

somewhere in PA

(it's a decently old Pagoda)

4H Fair

Went on a date!

Solar Eclipse with Aunt Robin (who loaned us glasses, fortunately!) and then an Ikea outing!

Dinner/pool party @ Kingfox's co-worker's

Round Valley, of course

Pool @ farm!

De-commissioned the "old" coop, upgraded to the Omlet Eglu. Kingfox heroically put it together for me! It is such a well-designed habitat; it makes the entire chicken thing so much easier

I painted my closet; trying to get rid of the mouse-pee smell. Kingfox assembled a Tarva for the bedroom.

There was a brief week where I tried temporary pink hair dye, which I didn't love; fortunately, it washed out, even from my superbleachedness.
(*note- Kirk has a stuffed pizza. Dude loves pizza.)

Also: Kingmanstock #7 (now with Kona Ice Truck and pool); devastating and dangerous wildfires out near Grandma Margaret all month; Hurricane Harvey hit Texas and flooded it badly, and Hurricane Irma hit the Caribbean and Florida and did mega-damage. Watching it all unfold became more disaster than is comprehensible all at once and sort of flipped into watching disaster-pr0n. Lots of domestic political and intl goings-on. Glad for the kids to be starting school, and to be busy. Grateful, dismayed; trying to be motivated and hopeful.
